Welcome friends to our Middle-earth campaign setting. It is the year 2946 of the Third Age and the Shadow is returning. Five years ago, an alliance of Elves, Men, and Dwarves defeated a horde of Orcs and Wild Wolves, under a sky darkened by Giant Bats, inaugurating a new era of prosperity for the Free Peoples. But five years is a long time for peace to last, and in many dark corners of the earth a shadow is lengthening once again.

Rumors of strange things happening outside the borders of civilized lands are spreading with increasing regularity and, while they are dismissed by most as fireside-tales and children’s stories, they sometimes reach the ears of individuals who recognize the sinister truth they hide.

These are restless warriors, curious scholars and rangers, always eager to seek what was lost or explore what was forgotten. Ordinary people call them adventurers and, when they prevail, they hail them as heroes. But if they fail, no one will even remember their names.

"Dungeons & Dragons is such a huge part of my life, role-playing games are what made me what I am today and it's something that I have never gotten tired of ... and probably never will.

To a party of adventurers such as yourselves, what you see is but another dull wilderness tavern in another dull hamlet in some nameless region. It is but another span of time between the challenges of true adventuring.

Outside the Nightgate Inn, a chill settles over the settlement of Woodmen-town this evening. Throughout the village windows begin to light up as darkness settles in. A cold breeze blowing in from the north brings a chill that causes fireplaces to spark to life.

Yet inside these tavern walls, spirits are high, and the food is hot. A fire blazes in the hearth, and the quiet tavern is alive with the tumbling voices of country folk.

Dusk falls, and several travelers come to the Nightgate Inn for food, warmth, and a place to rest. A handful of villagers are here, eating, drinking, and talking about their day. One day is much the same as another in the settlement of Woodmen-town. But, looking at you, these villagers feel that something will be different today.

Meanwhile . . . a young boy approaches your table, Can I get you anything to eat . . . to drink?

And so, our story begins ...

« About Our Adventures »

Welcome everyone. I want to try and educate everyone on exactly what we will be doing in this Middle-Earth campaign setting. As most of you already are aware of, Adventures in Middle-Earth"as a campaign setting" has multiple adventure modules associated with it but they follow a slight variation of the 5th edition rules..

What this does is it forces Loremasters such as myself to have to adjust and adapt to the new ways of running 5th edition games in a different style setting and I welcome that.

We still have tons going on with the campaign being under construction but anything and everything will be posted to this blog.

Wish us luck because I am sure this will be a challenge.

We are always looking for more like minded players and also Dungeon Masters that would like to play a modified Old-School Essentials Dungeons & Dragons that will be "dedicated" players & DMs. We have had a rough run here recently not being able to hold onto players due to real life issues. We are all brand spanking new to this modified Old-School Essentials game system as well as the Nentir Vale campaign setting so if you can tolerate mistakes being made while we learn then please give us a shout out.

If you think you would like to join us, you can comment on any of the posts on this blog or the comment section located here.

« Blog Admin's »

Greetings everyone. I would like to extend a warm welcome to you. This blog will cover the Middle-Earth campaign and its adventures within the Middle-Earth setting that is being worked on here. We will be using 1st edition rules as our primary core rules with Unearthed Arcana as the secondary rules. Mind you we will have some homebrew rules with the conversion from AiMe to classic 1st edition.

This blog is in it's beginning stages and will take time before it can be fleshed out into something worth reading, but given time this place should be packed full of information concerning our Middle-Earth campaign adventures.

Our adventures journals will be posted here. All of our Twitch stream sessions and Youtube uploads will be posted here as well. We hope you enjoy your stay and please subscribe and follow to all or of our multi media locations.

The admin for this blog is James Fullard who is also the Loremaster for this group.
